#EARTHQUAKE-PH
On October 15, 2013, at 8:12 am. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Central Visayas.
There were hundreds of people died. And some historic churches were destroyed because of the earthquake.
Earthquake's epicenter is located in Bohol, which was hardly hit by the earthquake and even in Cebu and other provinces in Visayas.
The earthquake caused the destruction of roads, homes, buildings, and historic churches in the island.
And there were hundreds of Aftershocks recorded with varied intensities after the main quake.
A heart-shattering photos of destroyed chuches after the earthquake in Bohol.
This is really heart-shattering to see. </3
And even the people from Visayas suffered the most, they are all feeling unsafe. No one can escape even the elders and the children.
And even the roads were cracked and broken. Others are having difficulties in going through major roads.
But other Filipino family were just thankful that they are still alive after a deadly earthquake.
Here is a real story of a filipino family suffered from the earthquake.
Wright, who has lived in Canada since 1986, is from Baclayon, Bohol. She said her family and their homes are relatively unscathed despite the damage. Many roads and bridges are broken, making rescue efforts difficult.
Many historic churches dating from the Spanish colonial period have suffered. Among them was the country's oldest, the 16th-century Basilica of the Holy Child in Cebu, which lost its bell tower.
"Our church is damaged. It is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines," Wright said. The Baclayon Church was declared a National Historic Treasure in the 90s.
From her home in Saskatoon, 76-year-old Wright spoke with her sister, Reina Manding, over the phone about the earthquake.
"They were in the house and my sister was in the bathroom taking a bath and suddenly the house was shaking.
All of the kids and her husband went out and they forgot their mom was still in the house. Her husband told (them), 'Go back! Go back! Get your mom!'" she said.
"She told me this morning that she was crying and shouting because she is alone in the house."
The earthquake was centred about 33 kilometres below Carmen city. The highest number of dead was in the municipality of Loon, 42 kilometres west of Carmen.
Extensive damage also hit densely populated Cebu city, across a narrow strait from Bohol, causing deaths when a building in the port and the roof of a market area collapsed.
When the earthquake struck, Wright's family immediately ran for the mountains because they were scared a tsunami would follow. However, the quake was centred inland and did not cause a tsunami.
"They are not sleeping in the house last night. They slept outside because they are afraid it might come back," she said.
Offices and schools were closed for a national holiday - the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha - which may have saved lives.

Until now, aftershocks were still felt on some cities in Visayas, making them feel nervous again.
But after all,
We, the one's who didn't suffer must be thankful that we do not experience that kind of disaster, and that we are still alive, and we're safe from harm.
God bless Philippines!
